Spring 2019 Baseball Rules

K, 1st, 2nd Grades

Only the following bats will be allowed:

All USA Stamped Bats

All Non-USA Stamped bats that are no more than 2 1/4″ in barrel diameter, no more than drop 12 (differential between length and weight), and 1.15 bpf

 All helmets used MUST be equipped with a full mask. 

League rules will be communicated via coaches.

Mustang (3rd/4th Grades)

For this league the GBA will be following the NSYBA Spring 2018 rules which can be found here with the following modifications:

Change to Rule 2c: Only the following bats will be allowed:

All USA Stamped Bats

All Non-USA Stamped bats that are no more than 2 1/4″ in barrel diameter, no more than drop 12 (differential between length and weight), and 1.15 bpf

Change to Rule 2d: All helmets used MUST be equipped with a full mask.

Change to Rule 6h: Substitute players must be registered players in the GBA Mustang division or lower. Coaches should try to find subs who are of similar caliber as those players missing.

Change to Rule 7a: A player can pitch a maximum of 6 consecutive outs per game. A player can pitch a maximum of 15 outs per week, where a week is from Monday at midnight – Sunday at midnight.

Change to Rule 7b: This rule is removed, but ANY player who can get the ball over the plate and wants to pitch shall be given the chance to pitch at least one inning during the regular season. 

Bronco (5th/6th Grades)

For this league the GBA will be following the NSYBA Spring 2019 rules which can be found here with the following modifications:

Change to Rule 2c: Only the following bats will be allowed:

All USA Stamped Bats

All Non-USA Stamped bats that are no more than 2 1/4″ in barrel diameter, no more than drop 12 (differential between length and weight), and 1.15 bpf

If after a player’s at-bat it is found that they used an illegal bat that player will be considered out if they got a hit. If that hit resulted in the scoring of runs, those runs will not count.

Change to Rule 2d: All helmets are allowed, but GBA strongly suggests using helmets with a full mask or c-flap.

Change to Rule 7a: A pitcher can pitch a maximum of 9 consecutive outs per game, 12 outs per double header, 15 outs over two consecutive days, and 18 outs per week, where a week is from Monday at midnight – Sunday at at midnight. During the playoffs only the 9 consecutive outs per game will apply.

Change to Rule 4h: There is no run limit during playoffs.

Change to Rule 4d: A regulation game will be 7 innings.

Change to Rule 9b.iv: On an overthrow during a pick-off or steal attempt runners may advance no more than one base. Runners on 3rd may only advance home if the pitcher throws to 3rd.

Change to Rule 6g: Substitute players must be registered players in the GBA Bronco division or lower. Coaches should try to find subs who are of similar caliber as those players missing.

Additional Rule: Everyone must play at least one inning in the infield and one inning in the outfield by the end of the 4th inning.

Additional Rule: No player can sit twice before everyone has sat once.

* Please note that these modifications may be adjusted once the NSYBA rules are posted, so make sure to check back at the start of the season. 

Pony (7th/8th Grades)
